A Great season so far...then Awards Night

Coaches and Parents,

I have absolutely loved watching your sons and daughters play ball and cheer this season!  I think this has been one of best seasons yet.  So much excitement as those kids are running out of the tunnel.  I love seeing them take a knee and pray with the refs at the beginning of each game.  I love seeing grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends coming to cheer on your sons and daughters!  So cool!

I want to make sure that you have Sunday, March 19 marked on your calendar for our Awards Celebration!  This is the first year that each facility will host their own Awards Celebration.  PARKVIEW will be at 2PM and the NAZARENE Church will be at 5PM.  This year, I'm looking forward to our speaker Janine Crevier-Yoder and her family who spin basketballs, ride unicycles, and juggle!  Check out their website here.

Cheerleaders, watch for more information from Randi Stolick about details for Awards Celebration.  All of our cheerleaders have rocked all season!  Way to go ladies!

Only two more games left!  The last game will be on March 11!  The kids have all come so far in their cheer and basketball skills, but also in their confidence and character.  I love Upward for that.  So thankful for coaches, parents, refs, and volunteers who pour into our children and invest in their lives.  Remember to tell your coaches, refs, and volunteers how much you appreciate you taking time to make this program possible.  We couldn't pull this off without their help!

Excited to celebrate with you on Awards Night!
PARKVIEW 2PM
NAZARENE 5PM

**If you have a player at each facility, feel free to choose the celebration that works best for your family, but please let us know so we can have the prizes at the right location.

Register for the 2017 Season

10/13/2016

Hey everyone!

The 2016-2017 season is well underway!  Lots of people have already registered and still more to come!  If you haven't, be sure to go to findlayupward.org to register your son, daughter, grandchild, niece or nephew.  We have flyers and posters available if you’re willing to put them up where you work or another location to help us get the word out!

When registering, here’s some common questions I run into…
  1. When you are using the “Carpool Link”  it is mutually exclusive meaning, Child A has to put Child B’s name in Carpool Link line and Child B has to write Child A’s name in the line.  If the names do not match up, the system will not recognize it.
  2. Coaches, please make sure you go to findlayupward.org and fill out an application there.  There are mandatory meetings that you will want to mark on your calendar. You can choose to attend Sat, December 3 at 9:00am or Tues, December 6 at 7:00pm. Also, many times, coaches do not use the “Coach link” when registering their child which causes an issue if teams are drafted and your son/ daughter are not linked with you
  3. Money for the early registration is due to office or paid on line by October 31, 2016 in order to receive the discount.  Drop off or mail to 2501 Broad Ave, or pay online when you register your child.

It’s going to be another great season with Findlay Upward Sports!

The 2016 season: Off to a great start...

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year!  We're off to a great start!  I love seeing the players and cheerleaders connecting with each other and make new friends!  I love seeing the teams come together and gel with their coaches.  I love the new season starting off and I'm excited for the first game day this Saturday!  Last week, I loved hearing kids talking about respect in their devotion time.  This is such a critical character trait that many people are not taught.  The players and cheerleaders learning to respect each other, to respect their parents, and those in authority.  What an awesome lesson to learn.  I'm excited to see how the kids develop their skills and abilities over the season!  Let's make this an excellent 18th year in Findlay Upward Sports!

Some grades will not be playing this basketball season.
This year we are now offering leagues for boys in grades 1-3 and girls in grades 1-4. We are looking for other options for next year so that additional grades may be added in the future. We're sorry for any inconvenience. If you have a child that wants to play and cannot, please join our wait list for updates on any new options for your child(ren).
